Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

We would actually like to continue to use your product but our client uses firefox most of the time and if the javascript onmouseover menu won't go over the java applet it isn't going to work. You mention that you will try to fixthe issue. If you can give me a date to when it would be fixed by, I can try to convince our client to wait.

Q: I want to know how I can set a menu item to pressed
when a page is loaded in javascript drop down menus.

A: You should set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)
Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.


Q: Why is it that when we place a drop menu ina div that the droppping part is not right uner the menu? The menu on top banner is the problem.. Thesame code outside of a div futher down the page works fine.

 I can place the same menu outside of the div and it works fine.When it is in a div the drop part of the menu is pushed to the far right of the screen.

A: Brian, see, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
In other words, you can't get the value of "POSITION: absolute" attribute of the object if the object doesn't have this property within inline style (style="POSITION:absolute;"). To get the value you should move .css style into style="" attribute.

Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css, for example:

You should add style="POSITION: absolute;"

to the

<div id="menu">

So, you'll have:

<DIV id="menu" style="POSITION: absolute;">



Q: Does your drop down menu creator work in Expression Web?

A: Deluxe Menu wasn't developed as Dreamweaver/Frontpage/Microsoft Expression Web extension,
BUT you can use it as standard Javascript files.
To install the menuinto your html page:

1. open the page in your program
2. open html source code of the page
3. add several rows of code (<script> tags).
