  • Build right-click menus for your site. For this purpose you should appoint a peculiar method for the object you want. The current X,Y of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the context menu.
  • Design menus absolutely based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It is possible to apply the personal CSS styles for every elements of the menu.
  • When the submenu is bigger than the visible page area, the size of submenu will be automatically decreased. To view all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automagically scrolled! Q: We are unable to get sub-menus to appear on page load or rather simulate a "windows application style menu".

How can we in combination with the java menu api function dm_ext_setPressedItem get the associated sub-menu to display? This function simply sets the item to "pressed" rather than actually showing the sub-menu. Attempts at beginning an item's text value with "+" only works with Deluxe Tree.

Again, we are trying to use the menu not only as a navigator but also as a visual aid for the user to determine what page they are viewing. For example, when a user clicks on a menu item and that page loads, the menu should display the top-level item pressed, the sub-menu group, and the item pressed.

Furthermore, it would also be useful if we could then "unlock" the pressed items and navigate the menu under normal circumstances.

If there are no existing "quick" functions to accomplish this, could you please point out the function in dmenu.js or another engine file that initiates the display of sub-menus, we could then force the menu to select a top-level item in the onload event thus showing a top-level item pressed along with it's related sub-menu.

A: Unfortunately Deluxe Menu doesn't have such a feature now. It is notpossible to set parent item highlighted, expanded submenu group andhighlighted submenu item.

You can do it using Deluxe Tree now only.

Q: I am trying the menu and facing one problem…

The text is too large and doesn't wrap around.. instead it makes the dhtml menu layers wider.

My dhtml menu layers needs to be 175 px only.. if there are to many characters in the link, I like it to wrap around to the next line…

Any options?

A: You should set the following dhtml menu layers parameter:

  var noWrap=0;

You can also use standard <br> tags inside item's text:

Q: All hide drop down menu tabs seem to have white in the upper corners rather than transparent.

A: You should delete white color and make corners transparent in anyGraph editor, for example in Photoshop.

How might we be able to include your javascript menu scripts within e.g. asp tags? We'd like some menu options to be hidden from some users, but I'm getting errors when I put asp tags in your data.js file.

A: It seems to me that you have syntactical error in your code.

Please, check that you don't have double quotes in your code. If you have several quotes you shoulduse back slashes before them, for example:
