  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! Q: I ran across your site on a search engine and downloaded the trial copy. I am playing around with it and have successfully generated  a menu bar which I wanted to try and test out.  I have followed the directions for installing it on my trial page of my website and can not get it to work. I am not sure what I am doing wrong .  I would truly love to buy this, but even with following the installation instructions, I can not get free javascript drop down menu to work.  I use Dreamweaver to build my site.

A: Deluxe Menu wasn't developed as Dreamweaver/Frontpage extension and wedon't have plug-ins for it. To install the menu into your html page:

1. create and save .js file with your menu parameters in Deluxe Tuner(you can use "File/Save as/HTML" function).
You can enter any name you like, for example enter "menu". So you'llhave menu.html, menu.js files and "menu.files" folder with all menu files.
2. open your .html page in Dreamweaver
3. Copy generated menu.js file and "menu.files/" folder in the same folderwith your index.html page.
4. Open generated menu.html in any text editor and copy several rows of code (<script> tags), For info see:

Q: I am using deluxe menus and have a problem with images not downloading when the page loads. Is there a way to instruct the menus to preload the images instead of waiting until a person mouse overs the basic drop down menu for the first time?

I am using images that are called via stylesheet.

Q: I have set up a menu that uses one 'data.js' file.
However, on ONE page, the menu needs to have three additional items, with a different style.
Is there a way to add the three items with a different style via javascript on that one page?
I think I know how to handle the styles, but I'm unsure how to add the three new items without using two differerent 'data.js' files- which is how I have it set up for the time being. You may want to visit the site to see what I mean.


A: You can use dm_ext_addItem() function to add items.

Q: I really want the actual dhtml menu bars to be SE Friendly. Is this possible?


A: You should generate search engine friendly code and install it on yourpage.
Deluxe Menu is a search engine friendly menu since v1.12.
To create a search engine friendly menu you should add additional html code within your html page:
