Q: I am having some difficulty dynamically adding items to a tree javascript and menu.
I have a menu with one "root" item. I see the use of the "+" symbol within the item name. I do not see any documentation regarding this symbol, only "|". Can you explain?
If I have one menu with this one "root" node, how would I add an subitem to this root node?
Here is my code so far, but the inserted items appear to be at the same level as the root node.

A: See dtreet_ext_insertItem () function has the following parameters:
function dtreet_ext_insertItem (menuInd, parentItemID, itemInd, itemParams)
Creates a new item and inserts it into a specified position.
menuInd - index of a javascript and menu on a page, >= 0.
parentItemID - ID property of an item.<, >= 0.
itemInd - index of a new item within the javascript and menu, >= 0.
itemParams - item parameters.
Notice that parentItemID is the Id property of the parent item (notindex). If you want to add top items you should set parentItemID=0.
itemInd - you should use this parameter if you want to add item in thespecific place, for example set itemInd=5 if you want to add itembefore the existing item with itemInd=5.
If you set itemInd=null the new item will be added at the end of this submenu and its index will be added automatically.
Q: Hi - I've turned on tsavestate which works, but it acts erratically. I have my javascript cascade menu .js file in a /js folder, and the site has multiple directories, but all the pages in all directories use the same menu SSI include, which uses the same deluxemenu code in the common /js folder. I read your KB article about states, cookies and multiple folders, but it is confusing... does it actually save state per directory, versus per the entire domain? I only have one menu for the entire site.. just would like it to save state correctly for all pages in all folders that include that javascript cascade menu.
A: It's a feature of the browser. It creates different cookies for eachsubdirectory.The only way is to place all your pages in the one directory.
Q: If you click a list drop menu link in the tree that opens a new page, for example, Solutions:By Type:Psuedo Wire , the link, Psuedo Wire, remains highlighted.
If you click a line that targets _self, for example, Solutions: By Type: T1 Extender, the link does not remain highlighted. My web app will need highlighting and all links will target _self. I have to solve this problem soon or else look elsewhere.
A: It is normal behaviour, your list drop menu can save its state within one page only.
You can try to use frames, and open pages in the content frame. Also you can use aserver-side script (php, asp, vb, etc.) to generate html pages fromtemplates on your server (we use this method on our website

You should set a pressed item using Javascript API:

To expand specific items you should use the following function: dtreet_ext_expandItem (dtreet_ext_getItemIDByIndex (0, 11), 1);
Q: Where can I find the onClick code for the html javascript popup?
A: See you can show the popup window when you hover, click or mouseout on some elements on yourpage. For example you've added an image in your html page. You should specify the ID for it, for example:
<p><img id="open_popup" border="0" src="images/submenu-bg.gif" width="170" height="29"></p>
So, in the Deluxe Tuner you should enter 'open_popup' object ID in the onMouseOver,onClick or onMouseOut fields.
Actually you can assign id to any object on your page manually. You should specify ID's - id="xxxx"for <a>, <div>, <img> ... tags.
If you want to show the popup when your page loads you should leave these fields empty:
