Q: I have setup some tabs on a site that I am designing and for some reason when I click on a drop down menu links tab and it links to another page it automatically highlights the first tab in the row. I have tried fiddling with it and have not been able to figure it out. Can someone point me in the right direction to have the correct tab selected after i click it and goto the page.
A: Deluxe Tabs doesn't support API functions which can return theselected drop down menu links tab.
You can set "bselectedItem" and " var bselectedSmItem" parametersbased on your link before you call your data file.
For example, move " var bselectedItem" and " var bselectedSmItem" drop down menu links parametersfrom your data file to your code.

You should define seltabs and selsmtabs using server side script.
You can also set it on every page before you call data.js file, forexample:

Q: I purchased the most recent version of "Deluxe Menu & Tree & Tabs & Window Multiple Website License", and now can't open menus from previous versions. When I try to open a custom drop down menu that was created in an older version, I get the error:
Can't open the file:
c:\webs\ltron\ltronmenudata.js
Check youre encode parameter
This happens on all of the older menus that we're trying to update............Do I have to run some type of conversion program on older menu files?
Please let me know as quickly as possible.........we have over 100 custom drop down menus out there and now it seems that we can't edit them!
A: This message means that you should change the encoding:
"Tools/Use utf8 encode"
Change this setting and then open your data files.
Q: I would like when I click on what ever link of the php dhtml menu that the visited link stay in a different color and with a different background
A: Deluxe Tree doesn't save a presseditem as it saves a tree state. It works within 1 page only and if youreload the page you should set a pressed item using Javascript API:
function dtreet_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, itemID)

Q: I have started with the deluxe - looks a little more confusing, but I will persist.
Just to confirm that this is right for me.
1) Will deluxe load quickly?.
2) Will it work with most browsers? Or will user need to download some sort of java file?
3) Can I use it with dreamweaver?
A: 1) Deluxe Menu generally loads faster than other page elements.
It is possible that the speed of showing the menu can be lower if the menu is very large. But it doesn't take so much time.
2) Deluxe Menu works fine in most of browsers on Windows OS, MAC OS, Linux/Unix OS.

You don't have to install additional software.
Your customer should change security settings in IE to allow Javascript on pages he loads.
When your security settings in IE doesn't allow Javascript onpages you load you can't see a dynamic page content.
There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.
3) Deluxe Menu wasn't developed as Dreamweaver/Frontpage extension,BUT you can use it as standard Javascript files. To install the menuinto your html page:
1. open the page in Dreamweaver/Frontpage
2. open html source code of the page
3. add several rows of code (<script> tags), For info see:
