  • Use a mouse to move a menu as a usual window. Also you can create the menu where each submenu can be "separated" from the menu (MS Office toolbar-like mode).
  • When the page is scrolled the menu remains visible. The menu can "float" along one or two coordinate axes.
  • There can be multilevel menus - create as many rows of the menu as necessary. Any submenu in its turn can include different number of columns.

Q: I am evaluating your fine menu builder application.

Please let me know the following:

a) How could I call a script instead of specifying a link?

b) If the above is possible, please let me know how, in the called script, I could know where the call to the script come from.


A: You can use your own javascript functions in the menu items.

You should paste "javascript:some_function()" into item's link field, for example:

  var menuItems = [
["text", "javascript:your_function(...)", ...]
];


Q: I was enthused to see you had cross-frame support for your menus. But, as I got into it, I discovered that your javascript transparent menu doesn't support frames within frames.

A: Actually Deluxe Menu works correctly with nested frames in most cases.Try to install Deluxe Menu in cross-frame mode. If you'll have someproblems you can send us a copy of your html page (including .js files) ora direct link to your website, so we can check it.



Q: I want to use this menu with ASP. Can the link items NOT open a new window?
For ASP the current window needs to be used with whatever value is in the link parameter.


A: JavaSript menu uses window.open or href-method depending on the target parameter.
If you set "" or "_self" target the menu uses href-method and if youset "_blank" or frame name the menu uses window.open and opens your link in a new window.

You should use the following parameter
  var titemTarget = "_self";
or
  var titemTarget = "";

Please, see also individual items targets, for example:
{|The Team, http://www.domain.co.uk/receptionist.htm, _blank,}
Change "_blank" to "" or to "_self".


Q: How can I set the padding for the dhtml horizontal menu text at the top? I want more padding on the left of the text but I don't want it centered.

A: You can set bigger left padding for your Submenu Style, for example:
