  • Build right-click menus for your site. For this purpose you should appoint a peculiar method for the object you want. The current X,Y of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the context menu.
  • Design menus absolutely based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It is possible to apply the personal CSS styles for every elements of the menu.
  • When the submenu is bigger than the visible page area, the size of submenu will be automatically decreased. To view all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automagically scrolled! You can also define width and height for each submenu.

Q: I have small problems with your javascript menu system.

#1. I am creating a multi-level menu, am I limited to a gird format or can every item have a variable column width?

#2. With submenus, I want to have the submenu be the same width as the parent cell, is there a simple command for this, or do I have to guess the column widths until it fits correctly?

#3. In those same submenus, I have items that are longer than the parent, is there a word wrap or a way to define a break, rather than having the scroll feature?


A: 1) You should use Individual Item Styles.

Q: Does your product generate the page code or is t a dll I have to use? Reason I ask is because we store our menu stuff with image references in a db. If your product outputs code for the menu, then I can use that and in my own code I can place/substitute values and work with it from there.

A: We have an .exe file - Deluxe tuner.
It generates .js files with menu parameters.
You can also export your menu to .html file.

You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so, you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: The text on the dropdown menu item is not centered as it shows in the preview, How do I fix?

A: The reason is in your style

TD {
VERTICAL-ALIGN: top
}

Try not to define style for Table, TD, TR elements they can affect themenu.

Set also the following parameter:

  var itemAlignTop="center";



Q: Deluxe Menu supports keyboard navigation eg. CTRL+F2 to activate menu.

Why does Deluxe Tabs not have the same feature?

I would like to use both java script navigation menu systems on the same page, and both need to have keyboard navigation for accessibility reasons.

A: Unfortunately it is really so, Deluxe Tree and Deluxe Tabs doesn'thave such a feature now.

We'll try to add this feature in the next versions of the java script navigation menu.
