The new method of making image-based menus: if item text is empty, icon fields will be used as item images.

Q: I'm having difficulty understanding how to set up css drop down menus. The differences between menuStyles, itemStyles, CSS and CSSText is very unclear, and doesn't seem to be well documented.

We have several examples of the menus using css.

You should set   var cssStyle=1; parameter and then assign your stylesto the items.

  var cssSubmenu is a CSS class name for all submenus. You can set, forexample, background color, background image, borders for all submenus.

  var cssItem is CSS class names for all items (normal state, mouseoverstate) in the top menu and submenus.

  var cssItemText is CSS class names for text of all items (normalstate, mouseover state) in the top menu and submenus.

It's possible to appoint individual CSS styles for separate elements of the menu using individual item styles and individual submenu styles.



Q: I'm having a problem with the new v3.9.2 javascript menu source. The drop-down submenus are now going "up" instead of "down".

I've tried the conversion steps in your email and I have even rebuilt the menu from scratch in v3.9.2. In the Deluxe Menu Preview window, the drop-down sub-menus behave properly - transitioning down below the horizontal menu. But it FireFox3, IE7 and Chrome the submenus appear above the horizontal menu.

Also... the transition effect (24 - Alpha Blend) only appears in IE7 - it is not evident in FireFox3 or in Chrome.

Q: It all works great under IE, but when you view it in Firefox the fly-out menus (off of Products, Services & About Us) do not appear over the Flash animation to the right in IE.

It works fine under Firefox on all other pages apart form Home, because Home is the only page with containing the Flash animation.

Could you please have a look and let us know if this is a known issue (we're using the latest 8 dmenu .js file, time-stamped 11 April 2006).
