Q: Hello, I’ve set my menus up so that they are positioned on my page within a container div (not using the positioning built into the menu script).

I am also trying to use the autoscroll feature as some of the submenus are quite long. The autoscroll doesn’t seem to work with the css positioning though.

I also tried to size the submenus to force them small and thus to scroll with no luck.

The scrolling works fine when I pull the menus out of the container div and just place them in the flow of the page.

Am I doing something wrong or are these two features incompatible with each other.


A: Unfortunately, it is really so. Submenu scrolling doesn't work with css. We'll try to fix it in the future versions.

Q: I think that your product is great makes everything look nice and professional with the drop down menu Items. My question is I have certain menu Items that I will need to disable at certain times. I do this now using a standard button and grabbing my parameters from an SQL database. Is there a way for me to basically pull which menu items I need disabled and present the customized menu for each client. I have read that your product has this ability I was looking for a little guidance or maybee a write up on someone that has done this.


A: Unfortunately, Deluxe Menu doesn't have such a feature.
You should write your own code, for example, on PHP.

You can try to use the following function

to disable your items.

Q: Is there a way to center floatable menus horizontally on a page?
I used to use absolutePos=0, and all of my menus were centered ok, but when I tried floatable=1 I found that I had to change toabsolutePos=1 to get the menu to float, and this messed up my centering. Since I have multiple menus of different widths, I'd rather not have to hard-code the menu width, but please let me know if there's a better way.


A: Notice, when you use floatable menu you can't use relative menu position.
So, if you use

  var absolutePos = 0;

and to center the menu you use <p> or <div> with the center alignment your menu won't float.
To center your floatable menu you should set absolute coordinates.


Q: Is there a way to hide a menu options in the navigation menu using either CSS or the java api based on the site user?
