  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! You can also specify height and width for each separate submenu.
  • Build menus completely based on Cascading Style Sheets. It is possible to appoint the individual CSS styles for separate elements of the menu.

Q: I cannot get the separator image to display in my dhtml right click menu. Is there a setting I am missing? I want to separate the main menu items with an image.

A: To add a separator you should

You can create separators using menuItems (you can do it in DeluxeTuner, use "Add separator" button), for example:

Q: I use v3.0.
I cannot manage to search within the menu.

I have done this:

"search:" in the link of a new item


A: You forgot to copy dmenu_search.js file on your server.

See the attached example. Search works fine.

You can also specify styles for the search box:

Q: Though, once I click on a link, the page will load properlyin the correct frame, but the next time I hover over that dhtml menu link again, I get a Permission Denied error.

A: It is possible that your links are incorrect.

If you open links situated in the different folders on your serveryou'll get error.

You can try to use absolute paths for your dhtml menu links:

  var pathPrefix_link="http://domain.com/";

You can also send us a copy of your html page (including .js files) ora direct link to your website, so we can check it.



Q: I'm interesting in dhtml menue ability to display a different color word on a menu item when the site is on that selected page

A: The menu has only two states normal and mouseover. We'll try to add the pressed state in the future.

You can set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem. You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.
