  • Use a mouse to move a menu as a usual window. Also you can create the menu where each submenu can be "separated" from the menu (MS Office toolbar-like mode).
  • When the page is scrolled the menu remains visible. The menu can "float" along one or two coordinate axes.

Q: Just wondering if it's possible to have the sub menu of my collapsible dhtml menu that appear when the "+" is clicked stay open when another page loads. I tried downloading the trial version & can't get that to happen.

Click on "web development" and then "web design portfolio" - when the new page loads the menu closes. Is it possible to have it remember which sub menus were showing when the new page loads?

A: Please, check that you have dmenu_add.js file in the same folder withdmenu.js.

Q: I don't know anything about what JavaScript is all about...and I'm currently trying to get a menu that will float as I scroll down the page.
I saw the examples you have and I'd love to be able to do that on my website, but I don't understand the scripting that you have written there.
Like, what makes it float from this text...


A: If you want a floatable menu, you should set an absolute position forthe menu and paste the following code into your html page:

Paste the following code into <head> tag

<script type="text/javascript">  var dmWorkPath = "data.files/";</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="data.files/dmenu.js"></script>

Then set coordinates of top-left menu corner in the data .js file, forexample:

  var absolutePos=1;
  var posX=30;
  var posY=110;

Then set   var floatable=1.

The parameter floatable=1 makes a floatable menu.

Also you can change any of menu parameters inside data .js file.


Q: When I want to have the same width of each item I use the individuel styles sometime it works and sometime not

A: See, when you use Individual styles to set the width for your items

  var bstyles = [
["bitemWidth=150px"],
];

you should check that you haven't set the exact width for the menu

  var bmenuWidth="250px";
