Q: We're working on new website and including your html menu systems.
Here's what we're trying to do and it keeps giving us an error (using MS Frontpage for development):

1) We have created a single leftnav menu that will appear on all of the pages of our website.

2) We've created an html page called leftnav.htm that is only this menu. It works just fine when we preview within Frontpage. The leftnav.htm and all the menu .js files are in a unique folder within the site.

3) We then have a template page that is the base template for many of the pages on our website. There is a layout table in this template into which we do an Includepage to bring in the leftnav.htm. When we try to preview this page with the menu included, we get a script error that says "Object expected" on line #155 (the .js file only has 154 lines of code).

We're stuck. Is there a problem with how we're trying to implement the html menu systems?


A: It is possible that you'll have an error in the Frontpage's preview.
Try to open your page in browser. If you'll have the same error,please send send us a copy of your html pages (including .js files) and we will check it.


Q: How do I make the main nav links align left in my horizontal menu (they are center aligned).

A: Try to use the following parameter:

Q: I have started using your menu and when testing in both IE-browsers the CPU jumps to 100% for at least 30 to 60sec.
Then the sub menu appears but also not as fast as in Firefox(no effects).

Now does my menu contains about 1476 item-lines, and I use the cross-frame modus.

Any ideas?


A: It is possible that the loading speed can be lower if the menu is very large. But it doesn't take so much time.
Yes, you can notice some delay in IE, but in over browsers it works better.
Deluxe Menu works fast, but 1500 is a large value.
I tried to create large menus on my machine: P4 3GHz, 512RAM WinXP SP2
It takes:
- 1000 items ~ 10 sec
- 2000 items ~ 40 sec

You can try to use AJAX-like technology.

Q: I have just purchased your menus and no matter where I place the code, the pull down menu in javascript always appears in the top left of the page, I need it elsewhere obviously but it simply won't move.. How do I do this?

A: You're using absolute position for the menu now. You should userelative position in that case. Change the following parameters:
