Q: I have been trying for months to find an answer to my submenu problem using your FAQ and Recent Questions.
The only thing that comes close to an answer is from one of your Recent Questions below, but I don't understand the answer. Will you please give me specific code or info to fix? Please refer to my frameset code and data.js info, which I've provided further down this message.

I am using cross frame menu dropdown. I have three frames: Top, Left and main (middle).

I am using the script and data from your sample file, it works fine. Only problem is submenu is offset to the right. It does not show up exactly down below the top javascript hide menu.

A: Yes, I suppose that the reason is in your frame structure. For examplenow you have:

top -------------------
       **MENU**
left--|main------------
       |
       | **submenus**
       |

Try to add additional frame in your top frame with the same width asyour left frame has:

l-top-|right-top-----------------
       | **MENU**
left--|main----------------------
       |
       | **submenus**
       |

Q: I'm trying out the cross-browser (top to bottom) drop down menu and I was wondering if it was possible to have the top bar (the main items) use a background image while the sub-items beneath used a plain background color and no image?

So far I've gotten them to either both use a background image, or both use a background color. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

A: Actually you can create any menu you like with Deluxe Menu.

You can use Individual Styles to set background image for the items

Q: I still am unable to make content show for each menu with dhtml tab.

I can make it open a new webpage, but that isnt what I want.

What I want is when the visitor clicks a tab, then content for that tab shows, on the same page, and the tab menu still there.

You can use Object ID as well as Link in both modes. Use the following prefixes within menu with dhtml item's link field:"object:" - means that there is object id after it;
"link:" - means that there is a link after it.
"javascript:" - means that there is a javascript code after it, for example:javascript:alert(\'Hello!\')

So, you should write for example:

Q: Now, one more little question -

in a Tree menu, I know how to make a menu expand by default and expand only on a mouse click.

However, I believe there is a way to make a menu item expand on a "mouse over" without a click.

How can this be done?


A: No, unfortunately it is not possible to expand the tree menu onmouseover now. It is possible that we'll add this feature in the nextversion.
