Q: I have downloaded the trail version of java menu source, and I am getting script errors.

I am working with the deluxe menu.

I uninstalled, cleared all cache and temporary files, restarted the computer, reinstalled and I still get the same message.

I am convinced this program is exactly what I need, but one step at a time.


A: I suppose that you're using Windows 2000.
We have some problems with Tuner on this OS.

Unfortunately we didn't fix the issue with Windows 2000 yet.

Try to delete all content from toolbar.html file.

Q: Does your product generate the page code or is t a dll I have to use? Reason I ask is because we store our menu stuff with image references in a db. If your product outputs code for the menu, then I can use that and in my own code I can place/substitute values and work with it from there.

A: We have an .exe file - Deluxe tuner.
It generates .js files with menu parameters.
You can also export your menu to .html file.

You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so, you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

A: Now on your page you have only search engine friendly code for Deluxe Menu. You do not have a menu.

You should paste also such lines, for example:

Where data.js is the file with your menu. You can create such file using Deluxe Tuner.

You should upload this files on your server in the correct place.


Q: I am evaluating various menu systems and need to know if your supports key navigation, like alt-F to select a menu?


A: Deluxe Menu has keystrokes support.

Use the following parameter to enable keystrokes support:
  var keystrokes = 1;
0 - disabled (default), 1 - enabled.

Ctrl+F2 - enter the menu/switch to next menu on the page.
Arrow keys - navigate.
Enter - enter the menu.
Esc - exit the menu.

Use also the following parameters:
  var dm_focus = 1; Show focus selection for selected item.
  var dm_actKey = 113; Key code for keystrokes activation.
Works with Ctrl key only.
Default value is 113 = F2 key, 114 = F3 key, 115 = F4 key, etc.
