Q: I'm trying to position my menus inside absolutely positioned <DIV> tags. If the <DIV> tag has style="position:absolute; top:100px; left:50px;" in the actual tag, deluxe-menu seems to work correctly. If I have the "position:absolute; top:100px; left:50px;" in a <STYLE> tag or a linked stylesheet and applied using id or class selectors, then deluxe-menu does not work correctly: sub menus have a 100pixel offset in the y direction and a 50 pixel offset in the x direction. This is with no change to the .js data file (I have absolutePos=0;) Is this a known issue, and is it planned to be fixed?


A: See, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
In other words, you can't get the value of "position" attribute of the object if the object doesn't have this property within inline style(style="position:absolute"). To get the value you should move .css style into style="" attribute.

Please, try to add your

css file -> inline css, for example:

For example, you should add style="position:absolute;"

to the

<DIV id=head>

So, you'll have:

<DIV id=head style="position:absolute;">
Now we have only such solution for this problem.
We'll try to fix this problem in the future versions.


Q: I need a menu system that can do one Vertical menu example in java and a completely separate Horizontal menu on the same page, no frames. Will this menu software do this?

A: Yes, you can create two menus (vertical and horizontal) and installthem on the same page. See the attached example.



Q: I'm using the deluxe-tree.
On the top of the tree there is a title. When i click onthe title the whole menu collapse. How can i disable this option ?
I want to keep the collapse option for the css menu tree when i click on the collapse button but not when i click on the title.

A: Try to set the following parameter:
  var texpandItemClick=0;


Q: I still am unable to make content show for each menu with dhtml tab.

I can make it open a new webpage, but that isnt what I want.

What I want is when the visitor clicks a tab, then content for that tab shows, on the same page, and the tab menu still there.

You can create only one level of tabs and assign Object Id's of theDIV's to show when you click on the tab.

You can use Object ID as well as Link in both modes. Use the following prefixes within menu with dhtml item's link field:"object:" - means that there is object id after it;
"link:" - means that there is a link after it.
"javascript:" - means that there is a javascript code after it, for example:javascript:alert(\'Hello!\')

So, you should write for example:
