Q: I want to be able to pull information into dynamic drop down menu from the mysql database.


A: You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so,
you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: How do you get the menu items in the transparent drop down menu to change to the hand like it's a hyperlink?

A: Set the following parameter in your data.js file:

Q: I am spending a lot more time and have figured a few things out. One more question please: How do I specify the target link I want a dhtml submenu to go to?

I see HREF specified in the code, but no where in the program to specify it.


A: See, the following parameter sets target for all items

  var itemTarget="_self";

If you want to set different target for each item you should set it inthe "Item Parameters" window. Choose your item in the main window andset target in the target field.
