Q: My sub menus are not rendering correctly in IE8 RC1 when my Vista machine is set to 120 dpi. I did not notice this as a problem until I installed RC1 today.

A: The menu works correctly in IE8 RC1 (120 dpi), if your browser image any font incorrectly(Tahoma in that case) the menu couldn't correct this.

It is possible that the reason is in the filters. You can try to turn off filters orchange font:

  var transparency="100";
  var transition=-1;

Q: I cannot see the shadow on the top items of the menu. Can you help me?


A: Now you have shadow the submenus only, if you want to have shadowfor the top items you should set the following parameters:

  var shadowLen=4;
  var shadowColor="#B1B1B1";
  var shadowTop=1;

You can see the shadow in Internet Explorer 5+ only.

Q: I am trying to have the selected top menu w dhtml item remain on the mouseover event after it is selected. It seemed to be working fine when i was just testing with # as a link but when i actually linked to different pages it returns to normal. How do i get this to work.

I tried removing the variable from the data file and calling it using
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2">   var pressedItem=set 1,2,3 depending on page </script>
but this does not seem to work as it does for tabs.

Deluxe Menu has only two states normal and mouseover.

Try to do the following things:

- delete   var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, forexample:

You can also set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.



Q: I have the following problem. I've set target parameter to "_self".
But my html files still opens in a new window.


A: Please, check the following parameters:
  var itemTarget="_self"; //default target

You can set target parameter for each item.

See menuItems parameter:
