  • Use a mouse to move a menu as a usual window. Also you can create the menu where each submenu can be "separated" from the menu (MS Office toolbar-like mode).
  • When the page is scrolled the menu remains visible. The menu can "float" along one or two coordinate axes.

Q: I have just purchased your menus and no matter where I place the code, the pull down menu in javascript always appears in the top left of the page, I need it elsewhere obviously but it simply won't move.. How do I do this?

A: You're using absolute position for the menu now. You should userelative position in that case. Change the following parameters:

  var absolutePos=0;
  var posX="0px";
  var posY="0px";

Q: Do you plan to implement a fix in the cross browser drop down menu for the pointer - many of our users have complained that it is very un-intuitive - surely it must be possible to change the pointer to a hand if there is a link. I have tried putting <a> tags in to the menu labels, but it only changes to a hand if the actual label text is highlighted - it obviously should change whichever part of the box is highlighted? Is there no other workaround?


A: If you set the following parameter:
  var itemCursor="pointer";

You'll have the mousepointer being a hand for all itemsin the menu.

Unfortunately, you can't change cursor type for different items.
But you can write so:

In all items with links you should use <a> tag.

Q: Do I need any additional loaded software as a visitor to a webplace using the Deluxmenu, for example Java applet, flash etc.?


A: You don't have to install additional software.
Your customer should change security settings in IE to allow Javascript on pages he loads.

When your security settings in IE doesn't allow Javascript onpages you load you can't see a dynamic page content.

There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.


Q: Can you provide an example of how to dynamically change the menu items at runtime for the dropdown menus?
(asp is fine, but if it needs to javascript that is also ok)

A: 1) You can use API functions to affect items dynamically:

2)Generate your menu items dynamically from database.
Unfortunately we don't have working example with ASP.

You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so,
you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:
