  • Build right-click menus for your site. For this purpose you should appoint a peculiar method for the object you want. The current X,Y of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the context menu.
  • Design menus absolutely based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It is possible to apply the personal CSS styles for every elements of the menu.
  • When the submenu is bigger than the visible page area, the size of submenu will be automatically decreased. To view all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automagically scrolled! Recent Questions

Q: It all works great under IE, but when you view it in Firefox the fly-out menus (off of Products, Services & About Us) do not appear over the Flash animation to the right in IE.

It works fine under Firefox on all other pages apart form Home, because Home is the only page with containing the Flash animation.

Could you please have a look and let us know if this is a known issue (we're using the latest 8 dmenu .js file, time-stamped 11 April 2006).

Q: If you look at my page in IE 7, the position of the submenus is too far over to the left from drop down menu. It is fine in Firefox.
Do you have any suggestions on this??


A: Try to set exact width for the menu:

  var menuWidth="600px";


Q: When I roll my mouse over my menu, it appears halfway down the page, not next to the menu. This only happens when I enclose the code in <div></div> layers. Is there a way to fix this?


A: It is possible that you have some problems with your css.

The problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).In other words, you can't get the value of "position" attribute of the object if the object doesn't have this property within inline style(style="position:absolute"). To get the value you should move .css style into style="" attribute.

Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css, for example:

You should add <DIV id=SiteMenu>

to the

style="position:absolute;"

So, you'll have:

<DIV id=SiteMenu style="position:absolute;">

Check that.


Q: I just downloaded the beta for IE8

And it looks like the java script menu code has a lot of issues with it. Are you guys going to be supporting IE8?

A: Yes, we're planning the full support for IE8 as well as for all major browsers.

All issues will be fixed with final version of IE8.
