Q: Is there a javascript function that I can call that will return the ID or the Text value of the currently checked tab?

A: Unfortunately there is no such a function now.

There are such variables.

dtabs_tabs[menuN].b1 - dtabs_tabs[menuN].selectedItem
dtabs_tabs[menuN].JT0 - dtabs_tabs[menuN].selectedSmItem

But they contain the index of the selected menu item, not the ID.

Q: Does your product generate the page code or is t a dll I have to use? Reason I ask is because we store our menu stuff with image references in a db. If your product outputs code for the menu, then I can use that and in my own code I can place/substitute values and work with it from there.

A: We have an .exe file - Deluxe tuner.
It generates .js files with menu parameters.
You can also export your menu to .html file.

You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so, you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: I would love to buy your product BUT, I am not sure if it will do what I want - can I call javascript within the dynamic menu?

For example my old page for disaster recovery we have inserted a URL substitution :

The javascript function is called at the top of the nav page:

A: Yes, it is possible.

Actually you can use your own Javascript code instead standard links and html code inside item text. For example:

Q: I really enjoy your tools and methods to create superb menus! On your webpage http://deluxe-tabs.com under "Product Info" and the tab "Individual Item Styles", you give an example how to make a "brind to front effect". I have tested it and works nice - but: When you add a subitem, won't one of the right javascript menu image come along - either on mousover or on selected. What do I have to do to fix that?
