Q: I am trying to install a search engine on my site and am having trouble due to my use of your tree-menu system, which I love by the way. I really need to find a compatible script that will search your javascript menu system, or at the very least search another file with mirrored links. I DO NOT want to add the links to each page, this is why I love your menu's, there is one central location to change navigation statewide.
Do you know if there is a search script that can do this( js, php) or is there a way to make your javascript tree menus accessible to the search engine?
A: You can generate search engine friendly code.
Deluxe Tree is a search engine friendly menu since v2.4.
To create a search engine friendly menu you should add additional html code within your html page:
<div id="dmlinks">
<a href="http://deluxe-menu.com">menu_item_text1</a>
<a href="http://deluxe-tree.com">menu_item_text2</a>
...etc.
</div>
To generate such a code use Deluxe Tuner application.
You can find this GUI in the trial package.
Run Tuner, load your menu and click Tools/Generate SE-friendly Code (F3).
Q: The xml drop down menu gets at the back of the flash..Can you tell us the problem?
A: You can try to add the following parameters for flash objects:
<PARAM NAME=wmode VALUE=opaque> and WMODE="opaque" for <EMBED>
It allows to overlap a flash movie by other layers.
For example:
<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" WIDTH="120" HEIGHT="40">
<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="data-samples/flash-deluxe-menu.swf">
<PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=best>
<PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF>
lt;param name="wmode" value="opaque">
<EMBED src="data-samples/flash-deluxe-menu.swf" quality=best wmode="opaque" bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH="120" HEIGHT="40"NAME="data-samples/flash-deluxe-menu" TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
</EMBED>
</OBJECT>
Q: Everything is working quite well -- with the following exception:
I added a button.gif file to my item, hoping that the graphic would appear rather than just a colored cell. (Yes, I did upload the button.gif file to the .files folder.)
My work looks great in the preview window, but still shows the colored cells in my web page (www.misyssbm.com/buy/index.php left side menu). My text changes show up on the web page, so I know it was updated.
Any ideas (note I have two deluxe menus)?
A: You should check all your images paths.
You should also upload these files on your server in"side_menu.files/" folder.
I've tried to download "side_menu.files/btn_navy.gif" but I can't doit.
Please, check it.
Q: How can I create an image based tabs with the javascript tabs generator.
A: To use Image templates you should add separators between the items and assign Tab Style for the items.
To make a separator set an Item Text value into '-'.
You'll have the following bmenuItems var bmenuItems = [
['Item 1','', '', '', '', '', '1', '','', ], //assign Individual Style 2
['-','', '', '', '', '', '0', '', '', ], //assign Individual Style 1
['Item 3','', '', '', '', '', '','', '', ],
['-','', '', '', '', '', '0', '', '', ], //assign Individual Style 1
['Item 5','', '', '', '', '', '2','', '', ], //assign Individual Style 3
