1. When I make an Item a Seperator using '-' on main menu Items (on a menu verticale javascript) it does NOT work (leaves a blank row) but when I make an Item a Separator using '-' on a Subitem it DOES work (uses the Separatorimage). Why ?

If I set the text value to empty on a main menu Item and then add image paths in the Normal and Mouse Over Icon fields in Item Parameters, all I get on my preview is an image placeholder with a Red X but when I set the text value to empty on a SubItem and then add image paths in the Normal and Mouse Over Icon fields in Item Parameters, the preview DOES show the image. Q: I have a question about your code for drop down menu; I was searching the internet for some programs that could generate a good menu for me. I came across your program deluxe tuner. It said it was freehowever it seems as if you need another program to get this one to work although it looks like deluxe tuner does everything I need to do. Anyways I am having a serious issue. The program generates the navbar perfectly fine, the problem is getting it to import into my web page. I tried the instructions below in dreamweaver CS3 severaltimes. I then tried to do it to a blank web page still nothing. I go into the source code and paste the code that this program generates exactly where I am told to place it then I also place the other code where I would like the navbar to be. Nothing happens I preview my site and I just get a blank page??? I placed the source files under the root of the web folder; I double checked the code to make sure that it is pointing to the source files. The Main .Js file sits in the root folder the same folder that the page is in, and the other .js files sit under a folder called “ NavBar.files “ that deluxe tuner generated for me.What could I possible be missing?? If I need to pay for the program I defiantly will but not until I get an answer on this question.

A: Your installation seems to be correct.

Please, check that you have all files for the code for drop down menu in the correctplaces, for example:

NavBar.files/
dmenu.js
....
*.gif
...
index.html
NavBar.js

Try also to set exact width for the code for drop down menu, for example:

Q: I am using Deluxe Menu and I had a question.

When you roll your mouse over the menu items, the background color of that menu item changes (it becomes darker). Is there a way to establish a setting such that when a Menu Item is CLICKED, the color of that Menu Item STAYS darker. This will help the user know which category of the website they are currently visiting.

A: The menu has only two states normal and mouseover. We'll try to add the pressed state in the future.

You can set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.


Q: I am evaluating your menu product - very nice! However, I am relatively new to HTML, though a long time software developer, just not HTML!

My question - is it possible to have the menu be in a table cell and have the menu resize based on the cell width, if the cell width is specified in percent (%).

For example, if I have a table and I have a first column that is set at 15% of the width of the table, can I insert a menu in that cell and have it fill the cell?

A: Try to set 100% width for the menu.
