Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Apply any font of any color, size and font decoration you need. Use any available type, color and thickness of a menu's frame. Choose any color for submenus and items backgrounds.
  • Set the size of the menu in percent, pixels, or other units. This menu may have a relative (it can be inserted into the table, for example) or absolute position .
  • Specify various values for spacing and padding for the whole menu and for each separate submenu.
  • You can specify a time for delays in showing or hiding of a submenu. Use special prefixes for image paths and links to make paths absolute.
  • Create separators using your own pictures, size and alignment.

Q: I can not figure out how you put the arrow that shows there's more information in the php drop down menu?
I tried and tried to figure it out where you add this .gif file?

A: You should set the following parameters in your data.js file:

  var arrowImageMain=["deluxe-menu.files/arrowmain.gif","deluxe-menu.files/arrowmaino.gif"];
//Normal and mouseover arrow images for top-level items.

  var arrowImageSub=["deluxe-menu.files/arrowsub.gif","deluxe-menu.files/arrowsubo.gif"];
// Normal and mouseover arrow images for submenu items.

You can set these parameters in Deluxe Tuner also:

Open 'Icons' section in the main window and set   var arrowImageMain and   var arrowImageSubparameters.



Q: Is there any way to call a javascript function on mouseover from a menu item?

A: You can use your own javascript functions in the menu items.

You should paste "javascript:some_function()" into item's link field, for example:

  var menuItems = [
["text", "javascript:your_function(...)", ...]
];

  var menuItems = [
["item text", "javascript:alert('Hello World')", , , , ,]
];

Unfortunately, you can't assign onmouseover/onClick event to each item. However, you can achieve this by using standard html objects within items, for example:

  var menuitems = [
["<div onMouseover='your_code_here'>item text</div>", "index.html"]
];



Q: I can not figure out how to get drop-down menus to show up in the Add-Ins on my Microsoft Front Page.

A: Deluxe Menu wasn't developed as Dreamweaver/Microsoft Front Page extension,
BUT you can use it as standard Javascript files. To install the menu
into your html page:

1. open the page in Dreamweaver/Frontpage
2. open html source code of the page
3. add several rows of code (<script> tags).

Notice also that some web editors won't display correctly javascript menus,
you should preview your website in the browser.
