Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • There can be multi level menus - create as many rows or columns of the menu as you want.
  • Use a mouse to drag a menu as a usual window. Also you can construct the menu where each submenu can be "detached" from the main menu (MSOfficeToolbarLike mode).
  • When the page is scrolled the menu remains visible. The DHTML menu can "float" along one or two coordinate axes.

Q: I've just put together a new drop down menu box for one of the sites I'm working on and whilst in IE it works fine, in FF the drop down menu box is not appearing over the Flash banner.

I don't understand why as this was put together with the latest version of Deluxe Menu - my understanding was that this issue was resolved a while back?

Can you help me sort this.

A: See fix for flash in Firefox here:

Q: I would like to use it in a page containing two iFrames.

The iFrame called "nav" is where the menu will appear and the iFrame called "main" is where I want any sub-menu items to appear.

How can this be done given there are no "frameset" tags in this type of structure?

A: Deluxe Menu doesn't work with <IFrame> objects.
It works with<frameset> objects only. All it can to do with <IFrame> is to loadpages into it.

You should use standard installation for the menu.

Q: How do I expand the length of the vista html drop menu tab images to accommodate longer text? If the text is "Special Event Programs", the arrows are outside the tab in another partial one.  I am using the Vista style tabs (black_blue / tealblack).

Is there any way other than definition of new image files to get more color combos?

Can I change the text size in the menu tabs?  When I use the Tuner, it has no effect.

A: Try to use image-based menu.

Set:

  var menuWidth="92px";
  var menuHeight="";

and create the following style:

  var itemStyles = [

["itemBackImage=WANmenu.files/btn_magenta-back.gif,WANmenu.files/btn_magentablack-back.gif",
"beforeItemImage=WANmenu.files/btn_magenta-left.gif,WANmenu.files/btn_magentablack-left.gif","afterItemImage=WANmenu.files/btn_magenta-right.gif,WANmenu.files/btn_magentablack-right.gif","beforeItemImageW=10","afterItemImageW=10","beforeItemImageH=21","afterItemImageH=21",
"itemBorderWidth=0","fontStyle=normal11px Tahoma","fontColor=#FFFFFF,#FFFFFF"],
];

Q: We would like to use standard images for the main menue and add popup menues by using deluxe menue. The popups are triggered by hovering the cursor above the main menueimages and they should stay visible as long as the cursor is in the image.
If the cursor leaves the image, the popup should be closed unless it is in the popup menue.

A: See, you can use one Deluxe Menu (image-based) with images for the mainitems and submenus or you can use several pop up menus for each image.

You should use onMouseover event.
