Q: How does one go about changing the parameter or the JavaScript so that a vertical menu selection stays 'on'? In other words, the vertical menu remains selected, perhaps in a background color that shows the user this menu choice is selected and the user is in the selected menu area.
A: To save your navigation path you should set the following parameter:
var saveNavigationPath = 1;
The menu keeps items highlighted during menu navigation.
0 - disabled, 1 - enabled (default).
You can highlight menu items by default in two ways:
1) Set the pressed item on each page idividually using the following parameter:
var pressedItem = -2;
The toggle mode. Sets an index of an item that will be highlighted by default.
-2 - the toggle mode is disabled;
-1 - the toggle mode is enabled, but no items highlighted by default;
0,1,2,3,... - index of highlighted item in a top-level menu.
- delete var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, for example:

2) Set the pressed item/subitem using dm_ext_setPressedItem () function.

Q: I created a test page with your product. I have a frame page consisting of a header and content.
The drop down menus are in the header and cross nicely into the content frame when they drop down. This part is working as planned! The first time I open the test page in my browser any link in any drop down menu will work the first time just fine.
Then, if I pick another link in any drop down menu, it appends the address of the first link to the address of the second link and the URL fails.
It is acting like it writes the url for the first link into some variable, then forgets to null it on select, and then appends the url for the second link to the variable. As I click links in different drop down menus it keeps doing this append feature until I have a very long worthless URL path. If I close the browser and start over then the first thing I click on will work properly, but that is all that will work.
I tried this test page on two different PCs, just in case there was a problem on my browsers. MS IE.6.0
A: You can use additional parameters to make menu paths absolute:
var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
var pathPrefix_link = "http://domain.com/pages/";
These parameters allow to make images and links paths absolute.
For example:
var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
var pathPrefix_link = "http://domain.com/pages/";
var menuItems = [
["text", "index.html", "icon1.gif", "icon2.gif"],
];
So, link path will be look so:
http://domain.com/pages/index.html
Images paths will be look so:
http://domain.com/images/icon1.gif
http://domain.com/images/icon2.gif
Please, try to use these parameters.
Q: Whenver I choose the enable Ajax feature and set the AjaxCount to 0, my menus don't pop out anymore. How do I get it to pop out?
A: That variable set the maximal number of submenus that will be loadedfrom server on your page.
If you don't know exact number of submenus you can set a big value forthis parameter.
If you set var dmAJAXCount=0; you cannot see you submenus.
To enable Ajax feature you should set, for example:
var dmAJAX=1;
var dmAJAXCount=100;
Q: I have images that I want to use for the top level of the menu. How do I create a menu using images that were created in a different program? I tried to look in the frequently asked questions but IcouldnТt find anything that told me how. Thank you in advance for your help.
A: You can use any image for the top items.
You can set
var itemBackImage=["",""];
Or, create Individual style
var itemStyles = [

The new method of making image-based menus: if item text is empty, icon fields will be used as item images.
