Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Apply any font of any color, size and font decoration you need. Use any available type, color and thickness of a menu's frame. Choose any color for submenus and items backgrounds.
  • Set the size of the menu in percent, pixels, or other units. This menu may have a relative (it can be inserted into the table, for example) or absolute position .
  • Specify various values for spacing and padding for the whole menu and for each separate submenu.
  • You can specify a time for delays in showing or hiding of a submenu. Use special prefixes for image paths and links to make paths absolute.

Q: I am using the deluxe tree menu but i am facing problem while using ajax
so can you please guide me how can i use the ajax functionality for the dhtml tree..

A: To enable AJAX Tree Menu use the following menu parameters:

  var tajax=1; // enables AJAX technology support

Each .js file must contain menuItems variable for the submenu in the following format:

  var tmenuItems = [
[text, link, icon1, icon2, icon2, tip, target, itemStyle, submenuStyle, jsFileName],
];

Where jsFileName - .js filename on the server that contains tmenuItems variable for the submenu.

Q: Click on the option "telefoonlijst" and a submenu has to pop-down… whay is this done not OVER the other object (e.e. the 'frameDESKTOP')

Unfortunately, Deluxe Menu can work within 1 frameset only. It can't work within nested framesets.

Notice that you should add dmenu_cf.js file in the folder where your menu is created in.


Q: We use your deluxe menu app. We are trying to configure menu windows to a certain width. But when we configure it to a certain number of characters, the app cuts words. Is there any way to configure it, so that doesn't happens and puts that word in the lower line in the menu en javascript item?

A: Try to use the following parameter:

  var noWrap=0;

You can also use standard <br> tags within menu en javascript item's text.

Q: Irene, thank you. I am working on seeing what you did and trying to get it to work on my computer. I keep getting ActiveX blocking errors when open page with the drop down menu source code on my computer. Is this something I can control from within the html code? Or is this something each user is going to have to change setting(s) in their IE Internet Options?

p.s., I had the code on the page twice cuz was just trying to get something... anything.... to work. I deleted the 2nd set which was further down on the page. I'm trying to get the menus to appear in the grey band just below the blue heading section but prior to the white text description section. And, once I get the menus to work, the navigation bar on left will be deleted. Thank you so much for your patience and help!

A: You can get the following message
"To help protect your security in IE ..."
on your local machine only. You won't have such message when you openyour website via Internet.

If you don't want to see this message you should do the followingthings:

Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Options/

and set
"Allow active content from files to run on My Computer".

Close Internet Explorer and open it once again.
There will be no such message any more.
