Q: I have a big problem with a trial version of deluxe menu - javascript tree builder.
if I save a testwork from me, minutes later I will open this... then come a message:
can't open the file:
you should change the encoding: "Tools/use utf8 encode"
Change this setting and open your data files.
What's that supposed to mean?
I am grateful when you give me an answer, thx.
A: Try to change the encoding: "Tools/use utf8 encode" and open your datafile.
Q: Everything will go fine during setup, until I get further into it, I will get an error. It says error on a line of text that isnt even there. The line of text does not exists. Please let me know how I can correct this issue and get the program running right.
A: See, it is not correct to write " symbols within menuItems:
["||A23 (3" DIAM)","http://www.interlight.biz/products.int?Category=INCANDESCENT&Subcat=A+SHAPE&Dept=A23+%283%22+DIAM%29",
Try to write your last items in the following way:
["||A15 (2" DIAM)","http://www.interlight.biz/products.int?Category=INCANDESCENT&Subcat=A+SHAPE&Dept=A15+%282%22+DIAM%29", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["||A19 (2.5" DIAM)","http://www.interlight.biz/products.int?Category=INCANDESCENT&Subcat=A+SHAPE&Dept=A19+%282%2E5%22+DIAMETER%29", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["||A21 (2.6" DIAM)","http://www.interlight.biz/products.int?Category=INCANDESCENT&Subcat=A+SHAPE&Dept=A21+%282%2E6%22+DIAM%29", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["||A23 (3" DIAM)","http://www.interlight.biz/products.int?Category=INCANDESCENT&Subcat=A+SHAPE&Dept=A23+%283%22+DIAM%29", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
Q: Deluxe Menu supports keyboard navigation eg. CTRL+F2 to activate menu.
Why does Deluxe Tabs not have the same feature?
I would like to use both java script navigation menu systems on the same page, and both need to have keyboard navigation for accessibility reasons.
A: Unfortunately it is really so, Deluxe Tree and Deluxe Tabs doesn'thave such a feature now.
We'll try to add this feature in the next versions of the java script navigation menu.
Q: I have a issue involving the location of the files.
What is the correct method of referencing the webroot (document root) in the deluxe tuner?
I ask because I have some pages that are in a sub folder on the server.
eg. index page is http://www.domain.com/index.html
but another page might be at
http://www.domain.com/somedir/somepage.html
And then the references do not work.
Currently I am editing the data.js file after saving it in deluxe tuner.
A: If you want to use relative paths you should write your links in thefollowing way.
If you have, for example such file structure:
deluxe-menu_files/
dmenu.js
data.js
images/
html_pages/
page1.html
page2.html
index.html
So, you should write write all your paths concerning index.html file.
For example, you paths will be:
["HOME","html_pages/page1.html", , , , "_self", "-1", , , ],
["ABOUT US","html_pages/page2.html", , , , , , , , ],
Unfortunately, Deluxe Tuner can't do it automatically. You shouldcorrect your paths manually.
You can use additional parameters to make menu paths absolute:
var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
var pathPrefix_link = "http://domain.com/pages/";
These parameters allow to make images and links paths absolute.
For example:
var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
var pathPrefix_link = "http://domain.com/pages/";
var menuItems = [
["text", "index.html", "icon1.gif", "icon2.gif"],
];
So, link path will be look so:
http://domain.com/pages/index.html
Images paths will be look so:
http://domain.com/images/icon1.gif
http://domain.com/images/icon2.gif
Please, try to use these parameters.
