Q: I am having a lot of trouble trying to get the menu to work properly. I want to make sure that I get it working before I make the licesning purchase.
The menu is to be CSS based but while I have the main menu somewhat in location, none of the settings are correct. Can you help?
A: See, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
To get the value you should move .css style into style="POSITION: relative;" attribute.
Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css
Try to write so:
<DIV id=if-navbar style="POSITION: relative;">
Q: Is there a way to hide a menu options in the navigation menu using either CSS or the java api based on the site user?
A: Deluxe Menu supports Javascript API.

You can try to use API functions in that case:
function dm_ext_changeItemVisibility (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, visibility)
To disable items you should set the target parameter to "_".
You can try to use the following function
function disable() {
dm_ext_changeItem(0, 1, 1, ["", "", "", "", "", "_"]);
}
to disable your items.
Q: I just purchased your multiple site bundle and have a menu question.
I need to create a menu for a site that has the top level menu have no border but I want any of the sub menu popups to have a border around them (or a different background color for the menu area for the popup). I can not see a way to do this? If a put a menu border on it appears on both the top level and any submenu popups.
A: You should use Individual Item Styles.
You should set the following parameters:
1) var menuBorderWidth=0;
2) Create Submenu Style
var menuStyles = [
["menuBorderWidth=1","menuBorderStyle=solid","menuBorderColor=#7E5927"], //style 0
];
You can do it in Deluxe Tuner. Click "Edit Individual Styles" and thenchoose "Submenu Styles" tab.
3) Assign Individual Style for your submenus.
You can assign them only for the first item in each submenu.

Q: I got it working however I have an additional question.
How do I allocate the width of each "button" see sample how for instance the "FAQ" button is so narrow compared to others. I tried adding spaces with no result.
A: You can use Individual Item Styles to set exact width for the menuitems.
