  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! You can also specify height and width for each separate submenu.

A: Actually you shouldn't change anything.
This info is for the customers who use these indexes (dtree_0i1i2) only.

Q: The spacing between each item of the top horizontal dropdown menu is uneven but I don't know why.

If you highlight them all it becomes more obvious.

It is almost as if the space after a 2 word link is twice the space after a one word link or else the total space after each link is related to the number of letters in the link.

For example the space after 'Discounts' is greater than the space after 'Home' but the space after 'Envelope Printing' is even greater.

A: You can try to set the following horizontal dropdown menu parameters:

Q: I have started with the deluxe - looks a little more confusing, but I will persist.

Just to confirm that this is right for me.

1) Will deluxe load quickly?.
2) Will it work with most browsers? Or will user need to download some sort of java file?
3) Can I use it with dreamweaver?


A: 1) Deluxe Menu generally loads faster than other page elements.
It is possible that the speed of showing the menu can be lower if the menu is very large. But it doesn't take so much time.

2) Deluxe Menu works fine in most of browsers on Windows OS, MAC OS, Linux/Unix OS.

You don't have to install additional software.
Your customer should change security settings in IE to allow Javascript on pages he loads.

When your security settings in IE doesn't allow Javascript onpages you load you can't see a dynamic page content.

There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.

3) Deluxe Menu wasn't developed as Dreamweaver/Frontpage extension,BUT you can use it as standard Javascript files. To install the menuinto your html page:

1. open the page in Dreamweaver/Frontpage
2. open html source code of the page
3. add several rows of code (<script> tags), For info see:

Q: The home page of our website uses java script dhtml. The error comes up when attempting to select a tab for the first time; subsequent selections are fine. The error is something about an object being null. Probably just need to modify a function to test for null, but can't read the .js file because its obfuscated.

A: You should set the following java script dhtml parameter.

  var bselectedSmItem=0;

There are no subitems in your menu.
