Q: Is there a way to center floatable menus horizontally on a page?
I used to use absolutePos=0, and all of my menus were centered ok, but when I tried floatable=1 I found that I had to change toabsolutePos=1 to get the menu to float, and this messed up my centering. Since I have multiple menus of different widths, I'd rather not have to hard-code the menu width, but please let me know if there's a better way.


A: Notice, when you use floatable menu you can't use relative menu position.
So, if you use

  var absolutePos = 0;

and to center the menu you use <p> or <div> with the center alignment your menu won't float.
To center your floatable menu you should set absolute coordinates.


Q: I want you to start modifying on your menu items in menu.js to get the caption from prestext. If you look at the bottom of commonfooter.html, you will see code like

Q: Is it possible to open the dhtml tree to a particular state when a link is chosen from elsewhere in the site (not from a menu link)?

Expands/collapses a specified item or a submenu.
itemID - ID property of an item. expand - 0 - expand the item, 1 - show the item.

Q: When I use API like <script>dm_ext_deleteItem(0, 0, 0);</script> it works fine in my first dhtml drop down menu code (menu.js) but I'm unable to reach second one (menu_gauche.js). I’ve tried this : <script>dm_ext_deleteItem(1, 0, 0);</script> and the page came’s out with a JavaScript error on that line. I’ve read on your side about dm_ext_deleteItem api and the first parameter is for menu Id … If there anything that I have forgot ??

A: You cannot use the following function for the tree menu:

dm_ext_deleteItem(1, 0, 0);

There is no such function there:

You should use

dtreet_ext_deleteItem (0, 0)
