Q: We had a strange problem with the menus when the sub menus are over applet in https: the applet disappeared.

After doing some Investigation in your code we noticed that you are using in HTTPS mode div instead of Iframe.

We would be happy if you can tell us why you are using div in this mode and if we will use http mode will it cause something that can affect the menus


A: Iframes don't work on https:// websites. You'll get warning message. That's why we're using <div> tag.If for some reasons a submenu can't drop down over an object the latterwill be hidden for a time when the submenu is shown.

If you use Deluxe Menu on https:// website, submenus won't drop downover select boxes within iframe objects. It works fine on a non-secureservers only.


Q: How can I place the dhtml pull down menu onto multiple pages using FrontPage 2000? I am not using CSS. Do I need to copy the html into all of the pages, or just place the script into each page?

A: Yes, you should paste the following html code on your pages:

If you don't want to add such code on each page, you can try to useframes, the dhtml pull down menu has a cross-frame mode. Also you can use aserver-side script (php, asp, vb, etc.) to generate html pages fromtemplates on your server.



Q: So, as you can see, I use "_self" in order to make the URL open in same window when left-clicked. If I set it to empty it opens in new window (is that correct behaviour (I thought we should use _blank to get that effect).


A: In the menuItems you can set target parameter for each itemindividually.
The following parameter:
  var itemTarget="_blank";
sets target for all items, so if you haven't specified target for theitem

["Arbeidsplaner","cp_workplan.php",,,,"","0","0"],

the target for this item will be "_blank".


Q: I have noticed an issue with the menu. Dhtml pop up menu does not drop down over the frame if a pdf is being displayed. It does something weird to the browser like shortens the main frame and displays above the menu.

A: Notice that you should add your pdf inside IFRAME tag.

Try to set the following parameter to overlap .pdf files:

  var useIFRAME=1;
