2.0 Buttons by Web-Buttons.com v3.0.0

Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! You can also specify height and width for each separate submenu.
  • Build menus completely based on Cascading Style Sheets. It is possible to appoint the individual CSS styles for separate elements of the menu.

Q: I have been evaluating your dhtml-tree product, for a potential use.

It does just about every thing I want apart from 1 thing:

I want each css dropdown menu item to (optionally) support the following syntax:

<a href="menu_link.html" onClick="return fnClickedLinked()">Menu Link</a>

I have worked out how to change the "menu_link.html", and also that it could be something like "javascript:fnClickedLinked()".

However I want the above syntax, where search engines can pick up the link and if my function returns false, the link is not followed when clicked.

Is this possible?

Or can I cancel the link navigation using the tree API node click event??

A: Actually you can add the html code inside item's text:

 ["|<a href="menu_link.html" onClick="return fnClickedLinked()">Menu Link</a>","", "", "", "", "Tip", "", "", "", "", ],

You can also try to use API function:

function dtreet_ext_userClick (itemID)

Q: Can I use my own images as the tabs in a div tab menu?

A: The Drop down menu items have the following structure:
  var menuItems = [
[text, link, iconNormal, iconOver, tip, target, itemStyleInd, submenuStyleInd, jsFilename],
[text, link, iconNormal, iconOver, tip, target, itemStyleInd, submenuStyleInd, jsFilename],
...
];

Where iconNormal, iconOver - Icons of an item: icon in normal state, icon in mouseover state.

So you can set your menu items in a such way:

  var menuItems = [
["","testlink.htm", "icon1.gif", "icon1o.gif"],
["","", "icon2.gif", "icon2o.gif"],
 ["|","testlink.htm", "icon3.gif", "icon3o.gif"],
 ["|","testlink.htm", "icon4.gif", "icon4o.gif"],
 ["|","testlink.htm", "icon5.gif", "icon5o.gif"],
["","testlink.htm", "icon1.gif", "icon1o.gif"],
];

Q: At the first time arrow images are loaded successfully in the menu, That time I click the menu and open a new page in crossframe.
After that I try to open new page from Main Menu, the arrow images are not displayed in the Sub-menus.

A: Thanks for your interest in our products.

You can use additional parameters to make menu paths absolute:

  var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
  var pathPrefix_link = "http://domain.com/pages/";

These parameters allow to make images and links paths absolute.
For example:

  var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
  var pathPrefix_link = "http://domain.com/pages/";

  var menuItems = [
["text", "index.html", "icon1.gif", "icon2.gif"],
];

So, link path will be look so:
http://domain.com/pages/index.html

Images paths will be look so:
http://domain.com/images/icon1.gif
http://domain.com/images/icon2.gif

Please, try to use these parameters.

Q: I am investigating why a few things have not been working for sometime on our site.

This is the error I get in the console "The requested URL /js/menudir/dtree_ss.js was not found on this server."

I update the files awhile back and removed the dtress_ss.js as I was instructed, why is it that it that the script is still trying to reference this file?

What do I have to do to remove this error from java script tree menu?

When I updated the files a few months back the new files seem to fix a problem we were having with Chrome, but broke the drop down menu in Explorer. I have yet to resolve this. The drop down menu appears to work fine in all other browsers.

The nav menu not working in IE7 (not sure about IE6 or IE8) is a bigger issue than the error in the console, but thought maybe they were related. From our analytics, the strong majority of our customers are using IE7.

A: 1) dtree_ss.js
The current version of Deluxe Tree doesn't have dtree_ss.js at all. You should deletethe following code from your page:
<script language="JavaScript1.2" src="/js/menudir/dtree_ss.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

In the body tag you should write:
<td >
<script src="/js/menudir/data-tree.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
</td>

In the HEAD tag you should write:

<!-- Deluxe Tree -->
<noscript><a href="http://deluxe-tree.com">java script tree menu by Deluxe-Tree.com</a></noscript>
<script type="text/javascript">  var tWorkPath="/js/menudir/";</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/menudir/dtree.js"></script>
<!-- (c) 2009, http://deluxe-tree.com -->

2) Error in IE7.
You're using new engine files and old data files for the menus now.
I'm sending you the example.
Use engine files for Deluxe Menu and Deluxe Tree and data files (data.js and data-tree.js)from it.
