Q: Could I use the javascript menu system tab with ASP pages.

A: Deluxe Tabs is a javascript menu system. It works on aclient side and doesn't depend on server-side implementation.
So there is no limitation for server-side scripting.



Q: I can not however find the option to move submenus closer together, I have too much ident for my taste.
How can I change that, by hand if that is the only way...

I mean this:

MENU1
    +    SUBMENU1

I would like

MENU1
   + SUBMENU1

Is that possible?


A: If you don't want to have icons before item text you can write so:

Your items will be closer to the "+" buttons.


Q: There is the possibility in the dhtml menu bars that an item has access control, that is is visible or not depending of the user?

A: You can use Javascript API and write your own code.

dm_ext_changeItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, iParams)
to disable your items or
dm_ext_changeItemVisibility (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, visibility)
to hide your items.Try that.

Q: I'm looking at evaluating your Deluxe menu software for inclusion in our current web based software solution and am particularly taken with the 'Ajax style' loading.

Could you please answer a couple of questions with respect to that.

At what point does it load those file ¦ initially when menu is drawn (so multiple small hits to app server) or when the user selects the menu? Does the link href *have* to be a .js file ¦ or can it be any valid file type that returns the correct data? I have to generate the menu options dynamically from a DB and therefore really need to include a JSP style file.

Our current menu system (made up of 4 levels deep contains over 300 links, which is why I want to minimise server hit as much as possible!


A: It loads when the user move his mouse above the menu items.

You can use any extension for these files. But the file structureshould be the same as in our example.
