Q: I've got an xp style menu that I'm trying to place within a table... Things are not rendering as I'd expect

I am trying to put the menu in the left column of the table, a form on the right side, and then center the entire table.
The html table is surrounded by a center tag (have tried a div tag with no difference).

It appears the xp menu is obeying the center tag, but not keeping it relative to the containing table...

How can I fix this issue? I have also attached the html source code as it is rendered in the browser in case that is of some use.

A: You should set the following parameter:

  var tabsolute = 0;

You're using absolute position for the menu now.



Q: I'm testing out your cascading html menu but I cannot seem to see the live version of it on line. I can view it on my computer but I cannot send a link to my coworkers so they can view it also. Am I putting the code in the right location? Please point me into the right direction.

A: It is not correctly to call data file inside H2 tag
<h2> <script type="text/javascript" src="test1.js"></script></h2>

You should write
<script type="text/javascript" src="test1.js"></script>
or
<div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="test1.js"></script>
</div>

Check that you uploaded dtree.js and test1.js files on your server.

Q: I am trying out your menu and I've made out a little test case in the attached file.

If you run it, you will see that the horizontal drop down menu css scrollsOUTSIDE the container div to the edges of the window. Is there anyway I can make the hhorizontal drop down menu css be within the container div and yet scroll?

And will the solution be cross-browser?

Note that menuDiv needs to have a collapsableDiv style. I am assuming that that is not a problem.

A: Try to set exact width for the submenu:

  var smWidth="925px";



Q: When I load a page the first tab of the creating tab menu is always highlighted, not the contact tab.

A: I suppose that you've set the following parameter:

  var bselectedItem=1;

So, the first tab is always highlighted.

This Tab menu can save pressed item automatically within1 page only.
If you open another page, the menu can't remember presseditem.
You should do that manually using Javascript and menu parameters
(  var bselectedItem,   var bselectedSmItem) or using any server-sidescript (php, asp, etc.)

You should delete this parameter from your data file and write thefollowing code
on each page before you call your data file, for example:
