A: Check that parameter:

  var texpanded = 0;

It expands all items by default.


Q: Is there a different type of menu, other than the way I have it set up, such as the tree type, that might load faster or take up less space when the page loads?

create .js files with your submenus and call this files from your mainfile, for example:

Q: The popup menu gives the (first) menu of the top menu. I need of course for this to be the menu of the popup.


A: Installation of your menu is not correct.

Now you have:
1) There is no need to call dmenu_popup.js file. You should delete thefollowing line:

2) Where you call source_pop.js file for Popup menu?
You should add:

3) The ID of your Popup menu is 1. Now you have ID - 0.

A: See, you've set the following parameter:

  var transparency="0";

That is mean that your submenus will be transparent. You won't seethem.

Try to set another value, for example:

  var transparency="100";
