Q: I have small problems with your javascript menu system.

#1. I am creating a multi-level menu, am I limited to a gird format or can every item have a variable column width?

#2. With submenus, I want to have the submenu be the same width as the parent cell, is there a simple command for this, or do I have to guess the column widths until it fits correctly?

#3. In those same submenus, I have items that are longer than the parent, is there a word wrap or a way to define a break, rather than having the scroll feature?


A: 1) You should use Individual Item Styles.

Q: Utilizing the drop down web menu under Internet Explorer 7, it gives me a popup of “To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restrictedthis webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer. Click here for optons….

  Is there a way to bypass this popup and IE recognize it as a valid script?


A: Please, see security preferences: IE/Tool/Internet OptionsMake sure that Active content is enabled.

You should check your Security Settings.

There is no way to enable these settings automatically.


Q: It all works great under IE, but when you view it in Firefox the fly-out menus (off of Products, Services & About Us) do not appear over the Flash animation to the right in IE.

It works fine under Firefox on all other pages apart form Home, because Home is the only page with containing the Flash animation.

Could you please have a look and let us know if this is a known issue (we're using the latest 8 dmenu .js file, time-stamped 11 April 2006).

we want to delete menuentry 'Sample1' and do
dm_ext_deleteItem(2, 4, 0)

This raises an error but according to your javascript menu master manual the first argument should be the menuindex ....which is 2 in our opinion.

A: See, if you have several menus on your page they will have differentID's, for example:

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data2.js"></script> //ID=1

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data3.js"></script> //ID=2

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data4.js"></script> //ID=3

So, if you have only one menu on your test page you should use ID=0
