Q: I purchased the right to use deluxe-menu because I liked how it worked versus my old menu which is your competitor (milonic menu) in the javascript driven menu market.
However, after using your menu for a few months, I have discovered a problem. When I bought the menu, the claim was made it worked with all doctypes. I use "strict" on my web site and want my pages to validate as strict with W3C or WDG validators.
I get a notice of incorrect copyright when I remove the link to yoursite in the heading of the document. Since this line does not validate,I feel that you should provide an adequate alternative to having a unsubstantiated line in your html code. I have looked over the FAQ on your site and have found no remedy. You have a wonderful product and I wish to continue to use your menu. But this one little bugaboo surely can be fixed on your end by altering the requirement to keep the incorrect copyright from appearing even though it shouldn't appear in my opinion.
For instance, I can alter the line and make the link invisible.

Example: <noscript><a href="http://deluxe-menu.com"></a></noscript>

By making the link invisible with no text, it will mean nobody would see the blatant ad for your site. The incorrect copyright notice does not appear under those circumstances, however it still does not validate.

I just want to create web pages that validate! Please help me as a struggling web author to achieve my goal and still use your menu which I paid for! Thanks for any help you can give me.

Q: I do not see any samples of the code and pages necessary for the drop down menu js works in a cross frame..

A: You should create your menu in Deluxe Tuner, save it.

Create html file with your frame set.

Set ID for the first frameset:

Q: I'm fairly new to HTML and Java. I'm using your popup window html, (its great) but do notknow how to use the "ID object" function. I'm using Frontpage as my HTML editor. The only way I can figure out how to give "a line of text" or a "Graphic" and ID is to create a "Layer". That creates an (ID) in the HTML script. But I still cannot get the pop up to work when clicking the object. How is the best way to create an object ID that will all Deluxe pop-up to recognize it?

One last thing...Can I create a pop up that fly's out after 10 seconds, and within that fly out have a link that opens another pop up with important info in it using the iframe feature?

This sound like novice questions, but that's me!

A: See you can show the popup window when you hover, click or mouseout on some elements on yourpage. For example you've added an image in the FrontPage. Right click on this image and goto "Picture properties...", on the Appearance tab select 'Style...' and enter any text inthe ID field, for example 'open_popup'. Switch to 'Code' mode, you'll have the followingcode:

So, in the Deluxe Tuner you should enter 'open_popup' object ID in the onMouseOver,onClick or onMouseOut fields.

Actually you can assign id to any object on your page manually. Switch to 'Code' mode andadd id="open_popup" for <a>, <div>, <img> ... tags.

Use another winID (first parameter) than you have in your data file if you don't want to close 1-st popup window or use thesame winID=win if you want to close 1-st popup.

content - will be the path to the file you want to load in your popup (files/test.html)
skin - is the name of your skin (default in my example)
contentType - set this parameter to iframe.

Q: There seems to be a "glitch" when I use Firefox.
I have rebuilt the page twice but I always end up with themenu floating to the left, instead of under the main menu (the second or third mouseover will correct the issue). Also, sometimes I have to mouseover twice before the submenu comes up (in I.E.).

I have validated...however I wondered if there could be a conflict in the javascripting (yours and mine). Any suggestions?


A: The reason is in your <!DOCTYPE>.

Try to specify units in "px".

It's necessary to specify exact value for Mozilla browsers. It helpsto position menus correctly.
