Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Build right-click menus for your site. For this purpose you should appoint a peculiar method for the object you want. The current X,Y of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the context menu.
  • Design menus absolutely based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It is possible to apply the personal CSS styles for every elements of the menu.
  • When the submenu is bigger than the visible page area, the size of submenu will be automatically decreased. To view all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automagically scrolled!   Question: I would like my horizontal menu buttons all have a uniform width, for example, all 7 top level buttons 120 pixels wide. I am not finding this setting in the available parameters.

A: You should create Individual Style and assign it for all top items.

A: See in Deluxe Tabs there are two modes:

You can use Object ID as well as Link in both modes. Use the following prefixes within item's link field:
"object:" - means that there is object id after it;
"link:" - means that there is a link after it.
"javascript:" - means that there is a javascript code after it, for example:javascript:alert(\'Hello!\')

So, you should write for example:

Q: Once more I have a small question about Deluxe Menu.
I have rewritten my homepage (still off-line) to use stylesheets instead of frames. But for some reason the drop down menu templates won't appear anymore.
Does DM need frames or can it also work without frames? I would suppose that it can also work on a page with no frames. But for some reason I can't seem to get it to work.


A: If you don't use frames there is no need to write your init functionin the following way:

dm_initFrame("lower", 0, 1, 1);

That is way you cannot see your menu.
Please, write:

dm_init();


Q: Is there a way to convert a dhtml javascript tree menu I created into a Deluxe Menu using the same data so I do not have to type in all the names and links of items?

A: Actually menuItems and tmenuItems have a different structure.

We don't have such converter yet. You can try to change your menuItems in any text editor. I suppose it will be easier to convert items in editor than in Deluxe Tuner.
