Q: I'm trying to shrink the vertical size of the sub-menu entries in my menu:

I think I've specified all the parameters correctly in data.js, but itТs hard to tell what affects the height of the submenu entries. Even reducing the type from 10pt to 8pt didnТt shrink them at all.


A: See, you set the following parameter:

  var itemPadding = 7;

That is why you have such a big padding around the items.

If you don't want to change the appearance of the main items youshould create Individual Style for the subitems. For example:

  var menuStyles = [
["itemPadding=2px"],
];

And assign this style for the first item in submenu.


Q: Is there a javascript function that I can call that will return the ID or the Text value of the currently checked tab?

A: Unfortunately there is no such a function now.

There are such variables.

dtabs_tabs[menuN].b1 - dtabs_tabs[menuN].selectedItem
dtabs_tabs[menuN].JT0 - dtabs_tabs[menuN].selectedSmItem

But they contain the index of the selected menu item, not the ID.

Q: My site requires me to regularly update the drop down menu by inserting a new item at the top of the list.


A: Add items using the following function:

function dm_ext_addItemPos (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams, Pos)

Adds the new item to a submenu.

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

iParams = [array] - the array of item parameters.
This parameter has the same structure as an item in menuItems array.
You can assign parameters of another existent item of the menu
(for example, when you want to create a duplicate of the existent item) or create new ones.

Structure of iParams:
[item_text, link, icon_normal, icon_over, tip, target, individual_style_index, jsFilename]
Pos - the position in the menu where you want to add new item.

A: You can create Individual Items Style and assign it to your tabs.
