  • Use a mouse to move a menu as a usual window. Also you can create the menu where each submenu can be "separated" from the menu (MS Office toolbar-like mode).
  • When the page is scrolled the menu remains visible. The menu can "float" along one or two coordinate axes.

Q: We have two frames in a frameset, one for the menu and one for the content where the javascript menu frame expands normally without any problem. Our content frame's source is determined dynamically. The problem occurs when the content frame contains a page with another frameset in it. Unfortunately we can not avoid this for now. And when this happens our menu stops expanding.

A: Unfortunately it is really possible that you'll have problems in thatcase because the index of the content frame will be changed.

For example now you have:
<frameset id="frmSet">
<frame> //menu index=0
<frame> //content index=1
</frameset>
Your init function will be:
dm_initFrame("frmSet", 0, 1, 0);

But if you'll have frameset instead of content frame:
<frameset id="frmSet">
<frame> //menu index=0
<frameset>
<frame> // index=1
<frame> //content index=2
</frameset>
</frameset>
You should write your init function in the following way:
dm_initFrame("frmSet", 0, 2, 0);

You should change your javascript menu frame init function in that case.



Q: We have a problem. If the "sub menus" open downward (in a horizontal menu) and there is Flash under it, the menu disappears. It goes BEHIND the flash and can't be seen.

Is there a fix for this?

I honestly don't recall it happening before but it now does. I probably didn't pay attention. Thank you!

Q: I can't figure out how to change the names of each tab for the simple dhtml tabs!

A: You can set the name of each tab in the Deluxe Tuner.
Double click on the item name in the Items area.

Or set the name of the tab using   var bmenuItems:

Q: I've begun experimenting with the dhtml rollover menu program and like what I see.

Question, when I have a tree menu on the left and the user clicks a node, I want the resulting HTML page to appear next to the dhtml rollover menu, on the right hand side. How do I reposition the HTML page so it doesn't take up the whole page and cover the menu?

A: You can use frames and open link pages into the content frame, or use Iframe.

Please, set the name for your iframe, for example:

<iframe name ='myFrame' ...
<frame name ='myFrame' ...

And then you must set the following dhtml rollover menu parameter in the data file withyour menu:

  var titemTarget="myFrame";
