Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Apply any font of any color, size and font decoration you need. Use any available type, color and thickness of a menu's frame. Choose any color for submenus and items backgrounds.
  • Set the size of the menu in percent, pixels, or other units. This menu may have a relative (it can be inserted into the table, for example) or absolute position .
  • Specify various values for spacing and padding for the whole menu and for each separate submenu.
  • You can specify a time for delays in showing or hiding of a submenu. Use special prefixes for image paths and links to make paths absolute.
  • Create separators using your own pictures, size and alignment.

Q: Can I use data from a SQL server using ASP for drop down menu code?

A: You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files,
so, you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: I can not figure out how you put the arrow that shows there's more information in the php drop down menu?
I tried and tried to figure it out where you add this .gif file?

A: You should set the following parameters in your data.js file:

  var arrowImageMain=["deluxe-menu.files/arrowmain.gif","deluxe-menu.files/arrowmaino.gif"];
//Normal and mouseover arrow images for top-level items.

  var arrowImageSub=["deluxe-menu.files/arrowsub.gif","deluxe-menu.files/arrowsubo.gif"];

You can set these parameters in Deluxe Tuner also:

Open 'Icons' section in the main window and set   var arrowImageMain and   var arrowImageSubparameters.



Q: I'm using your DHTML menu product.
I've read the parameters but am unable to make the drop down menu links stop spawning a new window on click.
I love the product and want to use it on my web but I've got to make it stop having babies! Have you some advice for me or a FAQ page you can send?


A: You should use the following parameter

  var itemTarget = "_self";

Please, see also individual items targets, for example:

Change "_blank" to "" or to "_self".
