Q: Hi, I am looking at your Deluxe Menu package. It looks very nice, but I cannot find any kind of manual for how to use it. There's some online documentation on the Tuner, but (for example) I can't find anything that documents the dm_popup window open options. I find some sample code I can copy that has the call
return dm_popup(0, 1000, event)
1. So, what do these parameters mean?
2. It takes a long time for the menu to go away if you don't click anything. From tracing through the obfuscated javascript with firebug, it looks like the second parameter sets a timeout to make the menu go away. But when I change the "1000" to "1", the menu does not appear to behave any differently.
3. If I want to have more than one of these menus show up on the page, how would I do that?
4. I have it set up to show the popup when you right-click a page element. However, the menu items only appear to fire if you then left-click them. This is confusing to the user: I'd like to have the menu items also fire when you right-click them for consistency. How would I configure this?
These are the kinds of questions I would like to have answers to, but I cannot find any relevant documentation. Do I have lots of tracing through javascript ahead of me? If I have just missed the relevant documentation, please tell me where to find it. I would love to use your product, but if I have to spend all my time tracing javascript it's not a big win for me. 2) You should adjust the second parameter in dm_popup() function:dm_popup(0, 500, event);
3) See the first parameter in the dm_popup() function is menuInd, soif you want to create several popup menus you should create severaldata file and call them on your page, for example:

You can dynamically generate the menu structure. For example movemenuItems into your phph page (or embed in a Smarty Template) insideSCRIPT tag:

</script>Q: I have placed my horizontal menu in javascript (1003 px width) in a table whose width is 1003px my dropdowns span from extreme left to extreme right (screen shots attached) by default the dropdown is leaving 20 pixels margins on both the ends which disturbs my layout. This happens when my screen resolution is 1024 x 768, when viewed in higher or wide screen monitors this problem does not arise. Please suggest a solution.

A: This is space to document borders. We've set this space, so that yoursubmenus will not look like the part of browser window. If you wantyou can delete that space.
Open engine file for horizontal menu in javascript - dmenu.js - file in any text editor and find the following code:
space=15;
Change 15 to 0.

Q: We are unable to get sub-menus to appear on page load or rather simulate a "windows application style menu".
How can we in combination with the java menu api function dm_ext_setPressedItem get the associated sub-menu to display? This function simply sets the item to "pressed" rather than actually showing the sub-menu. Attempts at beginning an item's text value with "+" only works with Deluxe Tree.
Again, we are trying to use the menu not only as a navigator but also as a visual aid for the user to determine what page they are viewing. For example, when a user clicks on a menu item and that page loads, the menu should display the top-level item pressed, the sub-menu group, and the item pressed.
Furthermore, it would also be useful if we could then "unlock" the pressed items and navigate the menu under normal circumstances.
If there are no existing "quick" functions to accomplish this, could you please point out the function in dmenu.js or another engine file that initiates the display of sub-menus, we could then force the menu to select a top-level item in the onload event thus showing a top-level item pressed along with it's related sub-menu.
A: Unfortunately Deluxe Menu doesn't have such a feature now. It is notpossible to set parent item highlighted, expanded submenu group andhighlighted submenu item.

A: See, for each item you should assign the ID property of the contentDIV (see data file with your menu parameters).
