Q: I have built a new drop down css menu.
I have a named frame body but when I use the menu creater it works and changes the frame but when loaded to the site it says error on page.
what have I done wrong ?
Try the home which calls home_body.htm and about us which calls About Us.html in the body frame top the right of the menu.
A: You cannot use local paths on the Internet sites. They won't work.
["Home","", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["|Back to main page","D:/Web Design/CCA/home_body.htm", "", "", "", "", "body", "", "", ],
["About Us","", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["|History","D:/Web Design/CCA/About Us.html", "", "", "", "", "body", "", "", ],
You should write, for example:
["Home","", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["|Back to main page","home_body.htm", "", "", "", "", "body", "", "", ],
["About Us","", "", "", "", "", "", "", "", ],
["|History","About Us.html", "", "", "", "", "body", "", "", ],
Q: I'm still having the issue with the sub-menus not being in the proper place, however I was able to fix the issue with menu now showing up in IE at all, it turns out I forgot a tag. So do you know why the sub-menu alignment changes depending on the browser window size? Either of the links below should give an example.
A: See, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
In other words, you can't get the value of "position" attribute of the object if the object doesn't have this property within inline style(style="position:absolute"). To get the value you should move .css style into style="" attribute.
Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css, for example:
You should add style="position:absolute;"
to the
<DIV id=navholder>
So, you'll have:
<DIV id=navholder style="position:absolute;">
Q: Now on IE for Windows, the menus disappear as I roll over them, though not always.
I'd say 90% of the time they fade away as my cursor crosses them.
10% they stay and I can get a good click.
On Safari, they work great.
A: See menu parameters they contain:
var smShowPause=0;
var smHidePause=0;
You should set, for example:
var smShowPause=200;
var smHidePause=1000;
Try that.
Q: Where can I change the state of Vista1 buttons?
A: If you want to have 1 state button, please, go to "Edit IndividualStyle"/Item Styles. Click on the style "Top Item" and in bothitemBackImage fields you should write btn_black.gif.
So in your data file you will have such code:
var itemStyles = [
["itemWidth=92px","itemBackColor=transparent,transparent", "fontStyle=normal 11px Tahoma","fontColor=#FFFFFF,#FFFFFF", "itemBackImage=btn_black.gif,btn_black.gif"],
];
