Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Use a mouse to move a menu as a usual window. Also you can create the menu where each submenu can be "separated" from the menu (MS Office toolbar-like mode).
  • When the page is scrolled the menu remains visible. The menu can "float" along one or two coordinate axes.
  • There can be multilevel menus - create as many rows of the menu as necessary. Any submenu in its turn can include different number of columns.

Q: I am very interested in using your deluxe menu products for my new website design, particularly the Tree Menu. I've been looking at the javascript tree source and am a bit worried that the links used will not be recognised by Search Engine robots - do you have any information regarding implementation of your menus so that the links are fully visible to search engines ?

A: You can generate search engine friendly code.
Deluxe Tree is a search engine friendly menu since v2.4.
To create a search engine friendly menu you should add additional html code within your html page:

...etc.
</div>

To generate such a code use Deluxe Tuner application.
You can find this GUI in the trial package.
Run Tuner, load your menu and click Tools/Generate SE-friendly Code (F3).



Q: How change the color of the link in the dhtml vertical menu if the link is already visited.

A: Deluxe Menu has only two states normal and mouseover,
butyou can highlight menu items in two ways:

Try to do the following things:

- delete   var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, forexample:

You can also set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.

Q: The spacing between each item of the top horizontal dropdown menu is uneven but I don't know why.

If you highlight them all it becomes more obvious.

It is almost as if the space after a 2 word link is twice the space after a one word link or else the total space after each link is related to the number of letters in the link.

For example the space after 'Discounts' is greater than the space after 'Home' but the space after 'Envelope Printing' is even greater.

A: You can try to set the following horizontal dropdown menu parameters:

Can this dhtml menu frames have images as well as text? Docs are not clear on it.

A: I'm not sure I understand your question.

These are image-based dhtml menu frames (four vertical round buttons on the left side). Onthe right side there is a content DIV. You can add any html elementsinside the DIV (text, images, forms and so on).
