Q: I played with it and I got the tabs java script horizontal menu to work. but having problems with them:

1. I want the tabs to open when you mouse over them, not when you click. Is it possible to do this?

2. I want the tabs to close when your mouse leave them. Can I do this?

3. It keeps saying "Incorrect key" when you click on them. Is it possible to fix them?

A: No, unfortunately it is not possible in Deluxe Tabs.

But you can use Deluxe Menu to create such java script horizontal menu.

To create such menu you should set the following parameters:

  var smOrientation=1; //horizontal orientation of submenus
  var subMenuAlign="pleft"; //submenu position (left align)
  var smHidePause=-1; //your submenus won't be hidden till you click orscroll the page.

"Incorrect Key" message means that you didn't paste your reg. key into data.js filewith your menu.

You should paste your key parameter into .js file where your java script horizontal menuparameters (vars) and items (  var bmenuItems) are placed.You should paste the following code at the beginning of the file:

Deluxe Menu Data File
Created by Deluxe Tuner v3.2

  var key="XXXXXX";

// -- Deluxe Tuner Style Names

Where XXXXX the key from your license message.
Try to clear also browser cache.

Notice your key will work on registered domain only. It won't work onlocal machine.

Q: I'm using the deluxe-menu software on a 2.0 site that utilizes master-pages. On everypage that is in the root directory the javascript for menu loads fine, but if the page is up a directory the main images for the menu don't display.

Have you had any customers with this same problem? If so any help you could offer would be appreciated, thanks!

A: Try to use absolute paths, for example:

<script type="text/javascript">  var dmWorkPath = "";</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src=""></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src=""></script>

and in your data file set:

  var pathPrefix_img="";
  var pathPrefix_link="";

Q: You've been helping me with some issues on the Deluxe Tree Menu system my company has purchased and most issues are resolved, so thank you! One big problem remains though and we can't seem to figure it out, so I hope you can help.

What we want is, when a user enters our site from the index (home) page then clicks on a link and the sub-page opens, for the dhtml menu tree to be open to the section the user is in and viewing. We also DO NOT want the browser to save the state of the menu, since that is inconsistent with where the user is in the site. Note: we do not use the Menu on the home page, is this a problem?

Per your tech support email, I've added the expand code, which works going from the home page to sub-pages. However, it interferes with navigating to other sub-pages once your in the site. The menu doesn't keep the section open, it closes back up. You mentioned the expand code has to be entered on every that so in this instance and if so, that's a maintenance nightmare - does a better way exist for this type of menu?

Then we activated the "save state" option and the menu stays open on the sub-pages, but the expand option doesn't work.
It's like they cancel each other out and you can only have one or the other.

Can I get these two to work together? What do I need to do? Is it better to use the XP-style menu?

A: When user clicks the link, the browser loads a new page and the script re-create the dhtml menu tree.
If you want to open the needed section automatically on load you can use the following:

1. Save the state to cookies
2. Use frames
3. Put the special script on each page of site that will open appropriate section.

Q: How do you get the menu items in the transparent drop down menu to change to the hand like it's a hyperlink?

A: Set the following parameter in your data.js file:

  var itemCursor="pointer";
