  • Use a mouse to move a menu as a usual window. Also you can create the menu where each submenu can be "separated" from the menu (MS Office toolbar-like mode).

Q: I would like to know how to put items in on multiple lines for the horizontal navigation
(i.e. create a line feed), how do I tell my code to start a new menuitem on the NEXT line?

A: There are 2 ways to do that:

1) set

  var noWrap=0;

2) use <br> tags, for example:

Q: I have a horizontal menu. The top-level has icons and text. I want the text to appear under the icon image, centered. Is there a way to do that?

Q: May I use this menu in Arabic mode I mean in right to left mode?

If yes please let me know how?


A: You're able to use any characters for Deluxe Menu in the same way asyou use them for standard html page.

The only issue is that submenus can be shown in incorrect positionwhen you're using dir=rtl for your page.

  var dmRTL = 0;
Set this parameter to 1 if you're using right-to-left direction of html page <HTML dir=rtl>.

Use also
  var smViewType = 2;
for right-to-left languages.

This examples demonstrates how the menu can change a submenusdirection. Use   var smViewType parameter to change a submenusdirection:

  var smViewType = 0..3;

Values:
0 - from left to right;
1 - from left to right + upwards;
2 - from right to left;
3 - from right to left + upwards;

In Deluxe Menu when you call data .js file you can try to specify the encoding:

<script src="data.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Unfortunately, you can't use arabic characters in Deluxe Tuner application.You should manually correct your code.


Q: The cascading javascript menu does not spans frames or windows like Applets. Is that correct?

I was not able to make the sample to do it.

A: The DHTML Menu and Java Menu are built on different technologies.Java menus can create submenus that cover frames as a standard Windowssubmenus. DHTML Menu can't do that, because it's controls is htmlobjects, they can't overlap Windows controls. So, cascading javascript menu hascross-frame ability that allows it to show submenus in differentframes. But it can support this mode for the same domain only -- ifyou loaded a page to a subframe from another domain, the submenuscan't be shown in it. It happens because all browsers don't allow todo that for security reasons. Just imagine if you'll able to create aframeset from 2 frames, 1st frame will be with a zero height-width,and you'll load your page into it. Then user will go to another domainand your "invisible" frame will change a content of other pages!
