  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. Q: Why don't any of the effects work in Firefox? I have built several different types of menus and they don't work the same in firefox as they do in IE. Is there a way to fix this? i.e. adding any html code or anything?


A: Yes, it is really so. Firefox supports only transparency of the menu.
Visual effects work in IE only. other browsers don't support them.

Q: All links in navigation bar examples open in a new window even when they're configured to open in the same page (or another frame).

A: Check the following parameters:
  var itemTarget="_self";

["menu item","link.htm", "", "","Tip", "_self", "", "", "", "", "", ],

Q: When I load a page with dhtml menu sample, lets say contact, the first tab is always highlighted, not the contact tab

A: I suppose that you've set the following parameter:

  var bselectedItem=1;

So, the first tab is always highlighted.

This Tab menu can save pressed item automatically within1 page only. If you open another page, the menu can't remember presseditem. You should do that manually using Javascript and menu parameters(  var bselectedItem,   var bselectedSmItem) or using any server-sidescript (php, asp, etc.)

You should delete this parameter from your data file and write thefollowing code on each page before you call your data file, for example:

Q: I am interested in purchasing the developer license for Deluxe menu, but I wanted to see if I can use the trial version to accomplish what I need. You have an example of what I need on http://deluxepopupwindow.com/ ("click here to open window"). I would like to click on a navigation menu link and have a pop up window linking to a url.

I got as far as being able to link the website in the pop up, but not exactly sure how you make a link that you can click to display the pop up.

A: Delete 'openAfter=' at all from deluxePopupWindow.attachToEventfunction:

deluxePopupWindow.attachToEvent(win,',,,,,')

In that case popup window won't show till you click on the link.
