Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Build right-click menus for your site. For this purpose you should appoint a peculiar method for the object you want. The current X,Y of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the context menu.
  • Design menus absolutely based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It is possible to apply the personal CSS styles for every elements of the menu.
  • When the submenu is bigger than the visible page area, the size of submenu will be automatically decreased. To view all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automagically scrolled! Q: I've now begun to offer my clients multiple levels offunctionality. Is there any way to add another level of complexity to the php drop down menu? Would AJAX Menus be the best approach for doing this?

A: You can do it in three ways now.

1) You can use API functions to generate items dynamically:

function dm_ext_createSubmenu (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, iParams)
function dm_ext_addItem (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams)

2) Use AJAX feature and create different .js files depend on company and user level.

3) Generate your menu items dynamically from database.
Unfortunately we don't have working example with ASP.

You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so,
you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: How to include the search box? With javascript menu maker there is not the option...

A: Use the following javascript menu parameter to enable/disable the "search support" for the Deluxe menu:

  var dmSearch=2;

0-nosearch; 1-ordinary search (within one level of submenus only); 2-recursive (within the whole menu).

Set item's link to "search:", for example:

Q: I already found out the use of the pressedItem setting. However Iwas looking to be able to have a submenu in the html dropdown menu already expanded on pageload. Can you tell me if this is possible yet in any way ?

Q: I am having some trouble placing the cascading drop down menu in frontpage.
Does your company have some kind of tech support for the frontpage material?


A: See, you should do the following things.

1. Create your menu in Deluxe Tuner.
2. Export the menu into html file "File/Export/To HTML".
3. Copy generated folder with all engine .js files and images("deluxe-menu.files/" by default) and data-deluxe-menu.js (by default)
into the same folder with you index.html page (created inFrontPage).4. Now you should add several rows of code into your index.html file.
You can do it in FrontPage (open HTML source of the page and edit it)
or in any text editor. Open your index.html page and edit it.
Notice that you'll have errors in the Preview. But you won't get errors if you open this page in the browser.5. Add the following code in the <head>tag:
