Q: I am having problems with the XP Taskbar Menu.  When I use DOCTYPE in the following format, the task bar does not show up atall for the exception of a single line.

When I hover my mouse on top of that line the menu displays fine with no problems.  So the problem is with the Start button and the taskbar – they do not show.  Can you please advice on how to fix this problem while keeping the DOCTYPE as specified.

Q: Do you by chance have the dhtml menu samples working with XML?

A: Unfortunately we don't have working example.

You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so,you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: Just wondering if it's possible to have the sub menu of my collapsible dhtml menu that appear when the "+" is clicked stay open when another page loads. I tried downloading the trial version & can't get that to happen.

Click on "web development" and then "web design portfolio" - when the new page loads the menu closes. Is it possible to have it remember which sub menus were showing when the new page loads?

A: Deluxe Tree has save state feature. You should set the followingparameter:

Q: There seems to be a "glitch" when I use Firefox.
I have rebuilt the page twice but I always end up with themenu floating to the left, instead of under the main menu (the second or third mouseover will correct the issue). Also, sometimes I have to mouseover twice before the submenu comes up (in I.E.).

I have validated...however I wondered if there could be a conflict in the javascripting (yours and mine). Any suggestions?


A: The reason is in your <!DOCTYPE>.

Try to specify units in "px".

It's necessary to specify exact value for Mozilla browsers. It helpsto position menus correctly.
