Q: Hello, I am trying to figure out how to use the Dynamic functionality in the java menu codes. I believe I want to use something like the dm_ext_changeItemVisibility function, and I want it to be dependent on HTML wrapped around the menu item.

Below is functionally how I want it to work:

Disable "Product Info/Installation" item.
and
Hide / show "Samples" item.

You can call these function via javascript depending on your conditions.



Q: Can search engines follow the menu items of the website design navigation?

A: You should generate search engine friendly code and install it on yourpage.
Deluxe Menu is a search engine friendly menu since v1.12.
To create a search engine friendly menu you should add additional html code within your html page:

<div id="dmlinks"> <a href="menu_link1">menu_item_text1
<a href="menu_link2">menu_item_text2
...etc.
</div>

To generate such a code use Deluxe Tuner application.

Run Tuner, load your menu and click Tools/Generate SE-friendly Code (F3).


Q: I have created a menu for a product tutorial. It consists of about 50 topics, each of which is listed in my menu. I’m wondering if there is a way to gray out the menu link for the open tutorial topic?


A: Unfortunately, Deluxe Menu doesn't have such a feature.
You should write your own code, for example, on PHP.

You can try to use the following function

function disable() {
dm_ext_changeItem(1, 1, 1, ["", "", "", "", "", "_"]);
}
to disable your items.

Q: I am setting a menu up for popupMode=1 and adding the javascript to respond to the onContextMenu action. When it pops up I am having to immediately move the mouse over the menu to keep it visible. Is there any way to keep the menu from doing this?
