Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • There can be multi level menus - create as many rows or columns of the menu as you want.
  • Use a mouse to drag a menu as a usual window. Also you can construct the menu where each submenu can be "detached" from the main menu (MSOfficeToolbarLike mode).

Q: Is there a javascript function that I can call that will return the ID or the Text value of the currently checked tab?

A: Unfortunately there is no such a function now.

There are such variables.

dtabs_tabs[menuN].b1 - dtabs_tabs[menuN].selectedItem
dtabs_tabs[menuN].JT0 - dtabs_tabs[menuN].selectedSmItem

But they contain the index of the selected menu item, not the ID.

Q: I use your licensed deluxe menu and I got a customer specific issue:

Is it possible to set no background color for the menus first level and a background color for all submenus?

I couldn't find a parameter to set different variables for main level and sublevels...

A: You should use Individual Styles for your subitems.

Q: I have a problem...
On some computers running IE the menu appears and works correctly, on others it doesn't appear.
There is only a line that says JavaScript Menu by Deluxe-Menu.com.
Both of these computers have the same version of IE running. I have reset the security levels back to default levels on both. Still the menu doesn't appear.
For all practical purposes both copies of IE are the same.


A: You should change your security settings in IE to allow Javascript onpages you load. In other case you can't see a dynamic page content.
There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.

You can also use Deluxe Tuner application that allows you to generate additional html code for search engine that can't parse Javascript. So, you can use menu links on browsers that doesn't have Javascript support enabled.


Q: The spacing between each item of the top horizontal dropdown menu is uneven but I don't know why.

If you highlight them all it becomes more obvious.

It is almost as if the space after a 2 word link is twice the space after a one word link or else the total space after each link is related to the number of letters in the link.

For example the space after 'Discounts' is greater than the space after 'Home' but the space after 'Envelope Printing' is even greater.

A: You can try to set the following horizontal dropdown menu parameters:
