  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. Q: Do you have any working examples of a menu generated using .php from a MySQL database?

Our website is dynamic from a MySQL db and we already have categories and sub-categories. It would be useful if we could use this with our deluxe menu.

I don't know how to set this up, so any assistance would be appreciated.


A: You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
However, these scripts don't work inside of Javascript .js files, so, you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:

Q: When I purchse your software/license, does this include any future updates?

I checked your site and FAQ but couldn't see any mention of this.

Any information would be appreciated.


A: All minor upgrades you'll get for free (for example, 1.5->1.7).
All major upgrades you'll get for free during 1 year (for example, 1.7->2.0).

For example, if there's some major upgrades (1.7 -> 2.0 -> 4.0)you'll get them for free during one year.

But if there'll be no major upgrades during some period (1.72 -> 1.81 -> 1.92). And after 3 year, for example, there will be major upgrade to 2.0. So you can upgrade for free.

We can offer you some discount for the major upgrade after one year.


Q: If you look at my page in IE 7, the position of the submenus is too far over to the left from drop down menu. It is fine in Firefox.
Do you have any suggestions on this??


A: Try to set exact width for the menu:

Q: My client wants their drop down navigation to lock into place when someone visits a page. Is there a way to do this?

A: I suppose that you're saying about submenus.

Try to set the pressed item using the following API function:
function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion, parentOpen)
Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a dynamic menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.
parentOpen = true/false - open all submenus to show the selected item

You can also try to use the following parameter:
  var smHidePause = 1000;
A delay (in ms) between mouse is moved from submenu and its closing.
You can make submenus to stay visible till you click outside the menu or scroll your page.
To enable this feature you should set this parameter in the following way:   var smHidePause = -1;
